WANT TO SAVE MONEY ON LESSONS READ ON
Do Look for a grade six instructor.
This is the highest standard a driving instructor can achieve. The DSA are the body who train and set the standard for the driving test and are the same people who assess the instructors ability to teach. Therefore it stands to reason to choose an instructor that the people who run the tests consider to be of the highest standard.
Do make sure your instructor holds a green licence (fully qualified). Although pink licence holders are legal to teach, the reality is that these instructors have only passed a theory test and an ability to drive at a high standard but not an ability to teach.
Do find out how much experience your Instructor has.
Cheapest is not always the best. Why is it this instructor is charging so little. Is it because they are not getting recommendations from previous pupils? Are they spending too much time doing theory to save money on diesel? Believe it or not the average instructor charging £21 an hour is only making around £7 profit. So savings have to be made somewhere.
Do make sure your instructor is using some sort of progress sheet. What have you achieved in this lesson? What is the aim of the next lesson? Find out.
Don’t use your lesson as a taxi service. Your lesson route should be dictated by what you need to learn in that lesson. Spending 15 minutes driving off that route will cost you £5 out of your £21 plus your will need an extra 15 minutes a future lesson to catch up on what you missed. Another £5
Do get your parent or the person who is going to help you with your practice to come along on one of your lessons. This can save you a fortune. Many hours are lost on lessons trying to put right the bad habit picked up during home practice.
Do practice what your learned on your lesson today. So the next lesson you can move on to the next level.
Good luck with your lesson and remember Go With Mo offers you all the above.
